Dues up by $5 for 2027

6/23/2026

From the WPA Leadership Team to all members:

The WPA dues policy is governed by the WPA Bylaws, last approved Feb 2026.

The dues subject is covered in Article IV, Section 3.  In summary:
  • WPA fiscal year is Jan 1-Dec 31
  • WPA State Dues rate is voted on and approved by members.
  • WPA Chapters set their own annual dues rate.
  • New Members paying dues after Sept 30 are credited with the rest of the current year and the following year.
  • Renewal notices are sent after Sept 30 to members in good standing for the following year state and chapter dues

The WPA state dues have been $28 since Sept 2016.  Costs have gone up in 10 years while the membership count and dues income has remained about the same.

The WPA state dues increase of $5 (from $28 to $33/yr) was approved during the Feb 2026 Annual Meeting at Puyallup. This increase will take effect 1 October 2026 for CY 2027.

The WPA Member Management System (MMS) maintains a database with each active WPA Chapter's annual dues rate.  This database is used to identify members state and chapter dues  when renewal is made online by members or chapter treasurers.
  • For WPA CY 2027 each WPA chapter's dues will remain the same as present unless changed by each respective chapter..
  • Updates for a WPA Chapter's dues rate must be received by the WPA State treasurer no later than 31 August to allow sufficient time for an update in the MMS dues database before next year's renewal period starts on1 October.

New members signing up online or by mail have for many years paid $40 for their first year dues, with $28 assigned to the state WPA and $12 to the chapter of their choice.
  • The New Member rate for CY 2027 is now $45, with $33 assigned to the state WPA, unless changed by Board resolution prior to 31 August 2026.

Contact me if you have questions, but first please refer to and review the WPA Bylaws, which are available on the WPA website under the About WPA tab.

Fly safe, have fun.
